Dauphin Street, Downtown Mobile, AL
Mobile's impressive history still echoes along Dauphin Street and Downtown as it has been transformed from one of the city's principal streets to a revitalized shopping and entertainment district. First laid out by the French in 1711, this popular thoroughfare was named after the son of Louis XIV and it became the city's commercial hub, as it still is to this day.
